It's been a long time since I first was drawn into the twin guitar sound of Wishbone Ash - probably 1971 or so. I've been a fan mainly of their earlier music when Laurie Wisefield was playing second lead to Andy Powell. Wishbone Ash have had more lineup changes than I've had Mars Bars (and I love Mars Bars), current line up is Andy Powell (the only original member) Mark Birch on Guitar, Bob Skeat on Bass and long time on and off drummer Ray Weston. During the concert Laurie Wisefield makes a welcome appearance and certainly spices up the tempo - in fact it makes you realise just how badly missed he is!

The song mix is a little disappointing as none of my real favourites are here (how dare they leave out "Keeper of the Light") and Andy Powell wasn't really as "into it" as I remember. Maybe age is catching up with both of us. This DVD is mixed in 5.1 Dolby Digital and offers good to excellent sound although some of the vocals aren't as "out there" as I thought they should. Bass definition is OK without being particularly tight. Clair Hammill's vocals are a little the worse for wear (as we all are darlings!) but for all of that, the wailing twin guitar sound is still there and for Wishbone Ash fans this DVD is a must have. For the rest of you, you certainly won't get bored but you may not feel the jiggle of youth wash through you as it did for me.
