Steve's Page
Imported from Manchester in England at the tender age of 12 Steve provided
much mirth and merriment for his fellow classmates as the resident "pommie
bastard". Needing the love and affection of the opposite sex he joined a
band in 1966 and lasted all of 5 months before being turfed out for either not
turning up for practice, not being good enough, or both. The rest of the band
later became famous as Sebastion Hardy and the singer Jon English.
He then played with several lesser known bands and still fools around on
guitar when his arthritic fingers and sobriety allow. Fortunately he has no
pictures of his Les Paul or Ovation guitars otherwise he would force us to put
them on the page.
After a stint with the ABC as Technician in Training (or tit's as they were
known) he qualified as a metallurgist. Due to a lack of financial rewards he
then turned to selling. (Typewriters, Spectrographs, Ultrasound Scanners,
Pathology Services and finally HiFi). He worked at Audiocom HiFi as store
manager in 1978 and after 2 years bought the business and eventually changed the name to
Eastwood HiFi.
He is married to the lovely Noelene and has two children, Ricky 18 and Georgie
16. Currently lives on an overdraft and is still crazy enough to ride
motorcycles.
